Kano’s deputy gov, commissioner arrested
Kano State deputy governor, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and the Commissioner for local government Mutari Sule Garo have been arrested for alleged electoral misconduct.
They were arrested in the early hours of Monday.
The deputy governor alongside his ADC, the local government Chairman Lamin Sani were apprehended by the police at the INEC collation centre at Nassarawa local council for allegedly destroying results sheets.
Police Public Relations Officer Abdullahi Haruna confirmed the arrest. He said the suspects have been detained at the police headquarters in Bompai, Kano.
