Kidnapped 10 farmers in Ondo regain freedom
The 10 victims kidnapped in a farm in Ayede- Ogbese, Akure North Local Government Area, Ondo State, on Saturday, regained freedom on Wednesday morning.
The Police Public Relations Officers of the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Funmilayo Odunlami, was gathered to have revealed the release of the 10 kidnapped victims on Wednesday.
The farmer, Femi Alawiye, was kidnapped on Saturday evening with nine workers in his farm.
The kidnappers had beguiled the victims to rush to the farm with a false alarm of fire outbreak in the farm. The kidnappers ambushed and abducted their victims at gunpoint as they entered the farm.
The kidnappers were said to have contacted the family, demanding N100 million ransoms, but reduced the ransom to N10 million after much negotiation.
