According to Wahab, those apprehended will undergo a profiling process to determine their identities and circumstances before receiving necessary support and being handed over to the appropriate authorities for relocation to their respective states of origin.
He said the enforcement exercise forms part of the Lagos State Government’s broader strategy to maintain a cleaner, safer and more orderly environment while addressing social welfare concerns associated with street begging.
The commissioner reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for residents through sustained environmental enforcement, adding that the welfare of those affected would be taken into consideration throughout the process.
The latest operation underscores the state’s continued efforts to discourage street begging and promote public safety as part of its urban management and environmental sustainability agenda.
