Lagos Island Fire: Burnt building collapses on policeman
The front section of the six-storey building that went up in flames on Tuesday in Lagos Island has collapsed, killing a policeman.
Two buildings were gutted by fire at different locations in Lagos Island that day, destroying goods and property worth millions of naira.
A section of the burnt six-storey building located at 43 Martins Street, Lagos Island, collapsed around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday as firemen made efforts at extinguishing the fire.
Unfortunately, the policeman, controlling the crowd, was injured by the crash.
Olanrewaju Elegushi, Special Adviser to Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Lagos Central Business District, said the policeman died in hospital following injuries sustained in the building collapse
