Lagos PPRO defends policemen called out for not stopping thugs’ attack
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, has reacted to a viral video of policemen watching while thugs disrupted a polling unit.
In the video which was posted by a Twitter user identified as Yusuf, policemen were heard saying they would write a report about the incidence at night.
Hundeyin, defending the police officers, said ‘What exactly did you want two unarmed police officers to do in this scenario?
“Everyone agreed from the onset that armed officers will not be at polling units so as not to scare voters away. While awaiting armed backup, they observed diligently. What else do you want, Yusuf?”
