LAHA-Absentee nominee debars legislative ratification
By Lanre Adesanya
One of the 37– man gubernatorial nominees forwarded to the Lagos State House of Assembly for constitutional screening and ratification, absent herself at plenary having been screened by the 15-man ad hoc committee.
The Speaker Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa hinted the house of the call he got from one of the nominees, who told him she could not make the screening by the whole house because she was far away in the united Kingdom.
The absentee at the first meeting with the House at plenary is Yetunde Onabule and may likely drag the ratification beyond limit.
Many of the nominees who were former legislators, reputable journalists, business guru, former commissioner, special advisers and council boss had a very good encounter with the pre-screening ad hoc committee who were said to be firm and thorough.
