Lightning kills 4 in Ondo; youths go on violent protest
Lightning struck at the Ago-Dada in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, and four young men were killed in the incident.
But rather than worry about the calamity, the non-indigenous youth of the community went on the rampage, killing one and destroying properties, according to a source in the village.
The angry youth wondered why the four victims were non-indigenes.
“This morning, the youths in the village picked up arms, resulting in the death of an elderly man in the hamlet,” a source was quoted by the Daily Post.
The state police command spokesperson Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed the inciden.
“But there was no protest that resulted in another fatality in the community,” she said.
“It was a painful thing, but who do they want to protest to?”
