Man docked for cheating PWDs
A businessman, Gabriel Arome, was arraigned on Monday in a Shari’a Court sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna State for allegedly cheating People Living with Disabilities (PWDs).
The prosecutor, ASP Luka Sadau explained that Sulaiman Abdulaziz from the Disability Affairs Board located at Kigo road, Kaduna filed a complaint against the accused on July 22.
“That you, Gabriel Arome, supplied chairs to the complainant`s office for a programme while other people supplied canopies which lasted seven days at the rate of N81,600.
“You had an agreement to use your account to receive money worth N331, 000 with the promise to remit the amount to the complainant “,he said.

He added that all efforts made by the complainant to retrieve the money proved abortive, as the accused keeps telling him to come back another time.
On his part the accused pleaded not guilty to the offence bordering on criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The Judge had granted bail to the accused on the condition he provided their community chief or Imam as a surety.
The surety, Yusuf Hassan paid N230,000 promising and wrote an undertaking to pay the outstanding of N101, 000 on Aug.29.(NAN)
