Masari announces ban on telecoms will be lifted before January 2022

Governor Aminu Masari has announced that the ban on telecom services in the remaining seven local government areas (LGAs) of Katsina state which he governs, will be lifted before January 2022.

Speaking during a news conference with journalists, Masari pleaded with residents to do their best to protect their areas from bandit attacks.

Telecommunication services in the state was cut off to starve criminals of the means of communication following an operation carried out by security operatives in the state.

The ban on telecommunication services has however been lifted in 10 out of the 17 LGAs in the state which were continously attacked by bandits.
