Migration: Not all marriages are genuine – Vlogger, Emdee spills more beans
Vlogger Emdee Tiamiyu says, as he expos£s more tactics deployed by those who immigrate through the UK study visa route
Nigerian Vlogger, Emdee Tiamiyu, has alluded that some of his compatriots go through arranged marriages in order to get dependent visa to immigrate to the United Kingdom.
In a trending interview with The BBC while explaining that some Nigerians hide behind ‘studentship’ to immigrate to the UK, he said, “During their course, foreign students in the UK are limited to working 20 hours a week in term time, so it’s hard to make much money on a student visa.”
Mr Tiamiyu suggested that the family visas can make it more economically viable, as a spouse traveling with the student can work full-time.
He added that, “Not all of the marriages are genuine, he says. In a few cases, “people would just team up somewhere in Lagos” before they travel.
