Mixed reactions trail International Men’s Day celebrations
Men are being celebrated across the globe on Saturday in commemoration of International Men’s Day.
The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Helping Men and Boys’.
Some men have gone on social media to send good wishes to themselves and other men while some have shared the problems they face as men.
Nigerian singer, MI_Abaga, urged men to take care of themselves. Saying via his Twitter handle, “Happy International Men’s Day to all the men out there. Take care of yourself and your guys! #theguyalbum #theguy”
A tweep, PenTitan, lamented that some men will still spend their money on their partners on men’s day saying, “Some men will still take their babes out today, being Saturday—and International Men’s Day—and spend their own money. It’s well.”
Another tweep, Tom_adwar, decided to wish women who play fatherly roles to their children saying, “Happy International Men’s Day to all women who stepped up to play fathers’ role.”
“Today is international men’s day but no one noticed because it’s men and we’re on our own and no one cares” a tweep, Muli_brian_ commented.
