Monalisa Chinda reflects on family loss, recovery

Nollywood actress Monalisa Chinda has opened up about her experience with grief following the death of her younger brother, encouraging people facing personal struggles to be patient and gentle with themselves.

The actress, in a post on her Instagram page, revealed that her youngest brother died on February 12, a day before her daughter’s 18th birthday.

Chinda said she is still healing from the loss but acknowledged the support of her family and faith during the difficult period.

She urged those dealing with grief or other personal challenges not to pressure themselves to have everything figured out immediately.

“Still healing… It took me a while to heal from my youngest brother passing (12th Feb), just a day before my daughter’s 18th birthday (13th Feb),” she wrote.

The actress encouraged people going through difficult moments to allow themselves time to rest and process their emotions.

She noted that it is acceptable to feel tired, take a step back and focus on getting through each day.

Chinda also offered words of hope, reminding those struggling that difficult circumstances can change with time.

“Whatever feels heavy right now won’t always feel this heavy. Keep going, one day, one moment, one breath at a time. You are not behind. You are not alone. And this chapter is not the whole story,” she stated.
