Musk pays $11 billion in taxes, makes history
Tesla CEO Elon Musk is going to pay $12 billion in taxes –except he is ready to donate a lumpsum of it to charity organisations.
“For those wondering, I will pay over $11 billion in taxes this year” Musk tweeted, adding he would soon become the biggest taxpayer in US history.
US Sen Elizabeth Warren recently accused Musk of sponging on Americans to get rich—and become Times’ Person of the Year.
Musk’s accounts team did the calculations, and given him the number that he tweeted.
As a result, Musk will not be offloading any more Tesla shares in the ten days remaining until the end of 2021.
He owns 22,2 million of the company, and, following a Twitter poll he initiated, he has just sold 3.2 percent of it.
The world’s richest man doesn’t draw a salary from the company.
