Mystery as gunmen shoot dead paralysed retired air force chief, tell his sister their mission
Gunmen on a covert mission entered the premises of a retired air vice marshal Mohammed Masaika on Makarfi Road, Rigasa, Kaduna 2am on Tuesday to assassinate their target.
And they succeeded.
Masaika, a former medical director at the NDA, had been paralysed for three years
According to reports, the criminals scaled the fence, and made no show of force as they went straight to the boys-quarters on the premises.
“They went to the boys’ quarter where they first picked his physiotherapist, who is also a Nigerian Air Force Personnel,” a source told the Daily Post.
He said the gunmen believed the physiotherapist to Maisaka should know his boss’ whereabouts.
The frightened therapist led them to the room.
The gun men then killed Masaika and his therapist, and left others, including his sister unharmed.
“We did not come for you,” the reportedly told the wailing sister who asked to be shot too.
The Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammad Jalige, confirmed the incident.
