N345m inheritance fund siphoned from Sharia court
The Sharia Court in Kano and the State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission are investigating how N345million got spirited from a holding account.
The amount was part of the custodial funds deposited by the Sharia Court, being the in a case of inheritance, according to Eon Intelligence
Only N9 million was left in the account, as confirmed by Chief Registrar Sheikh Haruna Khalil
“We have already submitted the matter to Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission for investigation,”said Grand Khadi of Kano Sharia Court of Appeal, Dr. Tijjani Yusu .
Acting Chairman of the Kano anti-graft agency, Mahmoud Balarabe assured that the probe will uncover the culprits.
Stealing, according to the Islamic law, is punishable by amputation.
