NDDC MD, Pondei, faints as House Committee investigates financial malfeasance in agency
The National Assembly was on Monday thrown into confusion as the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Professor Daniel Pondei, fainted on the floor of the House of Representatives during the House Committee on NDDC investigation of the corruption allegations in the commission.
The House Committee on NDDC was on the fourth day of the public hearing on the investigation of allegations against the Interim Management Committee (IMT) of the commission. The investigative committee had scheduledto interrogate the Minister of Niger Delta, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and acting Managing Director of the NDDC, Daniel Pondei.
The House was however, thrown into pandemonium when the NDDC MD fainted during proceedings, forcing the House Committee to take 30 minutes break.
