Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed that he is in “excellent physical condition” after undergoing treatment for an early-stage prostate cancer, revealing that he delayed the public release of his medical report to prevent it from being used for propaganda during the ongoing war.

In a statement posted on his official X account on Friday, Netanyahu disclosed that a “very early stage” malignant tumour was detected during routine medical monitoring. According to him, the condition was successfully treated without complications.

“Thank God, I am healthy. I am in excellent physical condition,” the Israeli leader stated, adding that the tumour had been completely resolved following targeted medical intervention.

Netanyahu explained that the cancer was discovered as part of follow-up examinations conducted after he underwent surgery for an enlarged but benign prostate about 18 months ago. During subsequent monitoring, doctors identified a small spot measuring less than one centimetre, which was later confirmed to be malignant but had not spread.

He noted that medical experts informed him that such cases are relatively common among men in his age group. Doctors presented him with the option of continued monitoring or immediate treatment.

“You already know me. When I’m given information in time about a potential danger, I want to address it immediately — both on the national level and on the personal level,” he said.

The prime minister opted for prompt treatment, which involved a series of brief medical procedures that allowed him to continue performing his official duties without interruption.

“I went to a few short treatments, read a book, and continued working. The spot disappeared completely,” he said.

Netanyahu also revealed that he intentionally delayed the publication of his annual medical report by two months. He said the decision was taken to avoid releasing the information at what he described as the height of the war, fearing it could be exploited by Iran.

“I requested to delay its publication so that it would not be released at the height of the war, in order not to allow the Iranian terror regime to spread even more false propaganda against Israel,” he stated.

The prime minister expressed gratitude to the medical team at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem for their professionalism and care throughout the treatment process.

He also used the opportunity to urge citizens to prioritise their health through regular medical check-ups.

“Take care of your health. Get checked, and follow the doctors’ instructions,” Netanyahu advised.

Concluding his message ahead of the Sabbath, he extended solidarity to Israelis injured in the conflict, saying he was praying for their recovery.

“On the eve of Shabbat, I pray for the peace of our wounded in body and soul… Shabbat Shalom,” he said.
