Nigerians react to Atiku congratulating Tinubu after APC primaries victory
June 8th, 2022, will be a day that many Nigerians will never forget in a hurry as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu polled more than half of the delegates votes to win the presidential ticket of The All Progressives Congress for the 2023 presidential election by seeing off tough competitions from the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo; The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, Rotimi Amaechi.
His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who also clinched the Presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party took to his official Twitter account to congratulate him on his victory.
He Congratulated him on winning the ticket of the APC which he termed a hard-fought one and opined that his victory was as a result of his tenacity.
Nigerians then reacted to the tweet.
According to @Macdd_, he referred to them as ‘Big Daddys’ and was of the opinion that they are they are tired of them playing with their future. He said that they want the beat for themselves. He claimed that they have lived their lives successfully in their various careers and should allow the younger generation to rule and should not embark on the quest to become the president.
Also, @Y_chupe said that both flag bearers of their party congratulated one another but now asked Atiku why he did not also congratulate Peter Obi? He was then of the opinion that Peter Obi will return to PDP after being promised a better position. Do you think this is true?
Another twitter user @rutie_xx then asked Alhaji Atuku Abubakr why he did not congratulate Peter obi.
@sammy_klick went further to ask Atiku why he did not congratulate Obi. He claimed that the reason for that was because he accords more respect to an opponent who he thinks has better chances of winning than him.
According to another twitter user @nollywhitesure, he alleged that the 2023 general election will be a test of the moral compass of the Yoruba people. He then asked the citizens if they would rather vote for a someone because he is from their tribe or vote for a visionary leader?
What are your thoughts on these reactions?
