Nigeria’s Flamingos defeat US 4-3 in U-17 World Cup, qualifies for semi-final
The Flamingos of Nigeria on Friday defeated the US U-17 team to qualify for the semi-final at the FIFA U-17 Female World Cup.

The Nigerian team won 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 stalemate in the regular 90 minutes.
Nigeria took the lead in the 25th minute of the first half through Onamuzo Edafe. Amina Bello was fouled within the box, and the referee awarded a penalty.
The US junior team equalized before the end of the first half. They scored in the 40th minute through Amalia Martina Villarreal.
The match remained stalemate for the rest of the time, leading to penalty shootout. This is the first Nigeria is qualifying for the semi final in the female World Cup competition.
