Nigeria’s Super Falcons defeat Australia 3-2 in Women’s World Cup
The Super Falcons of Nigeria on Thursday defeated Australia 3 goals to 1 in the ongoing Women World Cup co-hosted by Australia.

The Super Falcons suffered an early goal in the first minute of the added five minutes after the regular first 45 minutes. Van Egmood scored to give Australia the lead, but Uchenna Kanu equalized for Nigeria in the last minute of the added time.
Osinachi Ohale scored the second goal to give Nigeria the lead in 65th of the second half.
Asisat Oshoala consolidated Nigeria’s lead with the third goal in the 72nd minute of the game. She, however, incurred the sanction of the referee who issued her a yellow card for pulling her shirt to celebrate the goal.
The Super Falcons of Nigeria are as good as sailing into the second round of the competition.
