Reactions trail Asisat Oshoala shirtless celebration
Social media is abuzz with conversations following Super Falcons’ Asisat Oshoala pulling her shirt to celebrate netting a third goal against Australia at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Oshoala’s goal in the 72nd minute earned Nigeria a 3-2 victory Thursday, at the Brisbane Stadium.
Celebrating the victory, Oshoala pulled off her shirt, a move that has since stirred some animated reactions on social media.
The Super Falcon has since become a topic on social media as while some tweeps slammed her decision to pull off her shirt to celebrate while others commended the act.
Numberonetweep wrote: “Removing your jersey and exposing your body just because you scored a goal doesn’t make sense at all as a woman. Asisat Oshoala needs to fix up.”

Webkid Afrika tweeted: “Women in the football space especially players should be shown the red card for removing their jersey as a form of celebration. Asisat Oshoala should be used as a scapegoat !!!!!”
Lady Ruth, a young female tweep, slammed the Super Falcons player writing: “Since we won the match and the euphoria she was trying to express. Honestly, Asisat should have maintained a clad. She’s a female and that stands. Truth is bitter.”
Oshoala also came under fire from a few who wasted no time sexualising and body-shaming her.
Sirphaya wrote: “U no suppose worry yourself my brother … ….nothing Dey there to hide jare.”
