Nine killed in California warehouse fire
No fewer than nine persons have been killed and their bodies recovered in an Oakland, California fire that broke out in the city.
National Daily learnt that there were only two exit from the warehouse where artists had gathered on the second floor during a festive gathering before the fast-spreading furious fire broke out.
Some say up to 40 people might have been feared dead after the massive fire broke out during a rave at a converted warehouse in Oakland, California.
It was learnt that the blaze began amid an electronic music performance at the warehouse, which had been converted into an artist’s collective.
However, nine people were recovered after the building’s roof collapsed, and dozens remained missing.
National Daily further gathered that there was a makeshift, rickety stairway made from pallets and other materials — and windows, with a leap to the ground.
While nine people died in the fire, scores of others were said to have escaped. There were fears that some of the victims might not make it through due to the severe burns they suffered.
