Obi is not special—Obasanjo
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has explained his relationship with LP’s presidential candidate Peter Obi whom many believe Obasanjo is rooting for.
The suspicion thickened recently following the meeting Obi, River Gov. Nyesom Wike with his team, and others had with the former general in London last week.
But Obasanjo, who has met many of the other candidate, said he has an agenda, and no one in particular is too dear to him.
“I don’t have a special candidate, I have a national agenda,” Obasanjo said when journalist asked him about endorsing Obi.
He said this during his visit to former Presidents Abdusalam Abubakar and Ibrahim B. Babangida in Minna, Niger, on the weekend.
Besides Obi who he has met twice now, Obasanjo has met the APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu, and he equally dispelled rumours he endorsed the former governor.
As for his national agenda, the former president has always had an alternative to float every election year, starting from a Third Force in 2019 when he dismissed both the ruling APC , the opposition PDP, and their candidates.
But none of his personal agendas has panned out so far.
