OKOYE: How police recovered lawmaker’s head
The Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command CP Echeng Echeng has explained how the barbarians and cowards who beheaded Anambra lawmaker Okechukwu Okoye dumped the skull by the road.
The command operatives had earlier embarked on a rescue operation following his abduction on May 15 along Aguluzigbo Umiona, Aguata LGA.
Echeng said while the operation is still ongoing, seven days later, at about 4pm, a headless body was seen and later recovered by the police along Nnobi, Ideani road.
“Further information and confirmation, identify the corpse as Hon Okechuwu Okoye. The corpse has been deposited in morgue,’ a statement by the commands PRO Ikenga Tochukwu said.
The spokesman said the CP has commiserated with the family and friends of the late lawmaker, assuring them the perpetrators of this dastardly act shall be brought to book.
