Ondo govt declares 2-days public holiday as late Gov. Akeredolu’s funeral commence
The funeral ceremony of late former Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, commenced on Wednesday, February 21, with traditional rites in Owo, his home town.
The ceremony was attended by Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki; Bayelsa State governor, Duoye Diri; Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq and the Ondo governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Akeredolu, who di£d on December 27 in a German hospital during a protracted illness, is scheduled to be buried on Friday in Owo.
The Ondo State Government had declared Thursday, February 22nd, and Friday, February 23rd, 2024 as public holidays in the state.
