Optometrists demand justice for colleague allegedly killed by her husband
The Nigerian Optometric Association is seeking justice for one of its members Dr. Ogechi Ezeagu who was allegedly strangulated by her husband following domestic violence on July 10th, 2023.
Dr. Anderson Chimeziri, the president of the association in a statement on Monday, August 7 demanded that a thorough investigation be carried out to unravel the true cause of the death & serve justice to all parties.

He called on concerned authorities in the FCT & the Inspector General of Police to bring the perpetrator of the crime to book so as to assuage the pain of the family.
“Nigerian Optometric Association will not let this lie low as we shall put measures in place to safeguard our women members.
We are already collaborating with Women Optometrists in Nigeria to provide legal services that will protect our female members whether single or married from abuse of any kind. The welfare of our members is our utmost priority.
