Oshiomhole distances self from alleged statement deriding Binis
Edo former Governor and Senator- elect, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has distanced himself from comments making the rounds on social media, deriding the Benin People
The Ex Edo governor, now senator elect representing the state’s North senatorial District , denied ever making remarks purporting the Benin man as being petty and a betrayal.
In the social media realm, Oshiomhole was purported to have said: “…with little stipend, an average Benin man can betray his brother”
The former Labour leader absolved himself completely from such deriding and derogatory remarks against the Binis whom he shares the same ancestry
He described the development as the handiwork of the PDP, whose fears are manifest in the face of defeat they will get in Saturday’s house of assembly election.

In a statement issued by his Chief Media Aide, Victor Oshioke, Oshiomhole said in or out of public office, he has remain as always, a dependable friend of the Benin people and would never, under any circumstances, make such a derisive and sweeping statement about any tribe, much less the Benin people with whom he shares a common ancestry.
“We wish to state categorically, without any fear of contradiction, that at no time, publicly or privately, did Adams Oshiomhole make such a statement. It is a deliberately fabricated statement, as part of the divisive campaign of lies, hatred, and fear mongering being employed by agents of Godwin Obaseki and his rejected PDP faction that has held Edo people captive for almost 7 years now.
“With no visible projects on ground to justify their campaign for PDP candidates, and sensing defeat ahead of them in the March 18, 2023 House of Assembly election, they have run out of ideas and become desperately miserable in their tactics.
