Osun 2022: PDP holds parallel primary
The Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) in Osun State holds parallel primary election for the nomination of the party’s governorship candidate in the state. One governorship aspirant had earlier withdrawn from the from the race, leaving the party with five aspirants for the primary election on Tuesday.
Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo of Bayelsa State, representing his principal, Governor Duoye Diri, as the Chief Electoral Officer in the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party governorship primary, dismissed the conduct of parallel primary in the state, saying that the only legitimate primary is the election being conducted at the stadium where the election committee were supervising the processes and PDP members gathered to elect their candidate, insisting that this was the credible election.
Lawrence promised that the election will be credible while all delegates will depart for their homes satisfied.
The result of the PDP primary is being waited at the time of this report.
