PDP conducts ward congress in Zamfara
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) successfully conducted its Ward Congresses in Zamfara State where new leaders of the party were elected in the 147 wards of the 14 local government areas.
The ward congress held concomitantly in all parts of the state and was observed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) led by Nasiru Saidu. A five-man Ward Congress Electoral Committee was delegated from the PDP National Headquarters, Abuja, to observe the ward congress in Zamfara.
Chairman of the PDP five-man Electoral Committee, Zakka Sunday, expressed delight that party delegates turned out en mass for the congress.
Zakka Sunday expressed optimism that PDP has been stabilized to take over power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023, saying that the ruling party has failed in tackling insecurity, poverty, unemployment and rising inflation, etc.
The PDP Caretaker Chairman in Zamfara State, Colonel Bala Mande (rtd), former Chief of Staff to Governor Bello Mohammed who is now in APC, reiterated that the PDP is strong in the state, and is determined to wrest power from the APC in 2023.
