PDP Edo Central integrates new members into leadership structures
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Edo Central Senatorial District, at its stakeholders meeting on Sunday at the residence of Senator (Engr.) Clifford Ordia, Usugbenu Irrua, resolved to integrate new members into the leadership structure of the party in the district and down the line to the wards.
Stakeholders at the meeting deliberated on various issues affecting the party, making far-reaching decisions.
A major resolution was the full integration of new PDP members into the party structure in the senatorial district.
The stakeholders also deliberated on the removal of the member representing the senatorial district in the National Assembly from being a member of the PDP Board of Trustees (BOT). The stakeholders considered this highly embarrassing.
The stakeholders unanimously resolved as follows:
That new PDP members should be integrated at all levels of the party structures within the Senatorial District.
That the Barrister Anslem Ojiezue-led Committee set up by the State Chairman to work out the modalities for the integration of new members should, as a matter of urgency, submit a template within one week on the procedure to be adopted in achieving the said integration;
That party leaders and the party executives at all levels should be involved in the integration of new members in their various local government areas;
That on the removal of the representative of the Senatorial District from the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), a four-man Committee was set up to be headed by Joe Edionwele to meet with the National Vice Chairman, South-South Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih, to express the displeasure of the Senatorial District and seek ways to remedy the defect and correct the imbalance in the representation at the BoT for equity;
The Senatorial District further resolved to work with Governor Godwin Obaseki, expressing intention to assist the governor to achieve his campaign promises to the people of Edo State.
The State Vice Chairman/Senatorial Chairman, Archbishop Anthony Okosun, in a joint statement with the State Assistant Secretary/Senatorial Secretary, Barrister L. Ogedegbe KSM, indicted the meeting was attended by the State Chairman, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, the Senatorial Chairman, Archbishop Dr. Anthony Okosun, Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, members of The State Executive Committee from the Senatorial District , members of the National and State Assemblies from the Senatorial District, Leaders of the party representing both the old and new members, Civil Commissioners, LGA Chairmen, women leaders, Youths leaders and other members of the party.
