PDP kicks as Akeredolu’s wife contests senatorial election in Imo
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has challenged Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State over using public funds belonging to the Ondo State government to finance the senatorial ambition of his wife, Betty Anyanwu- Akeredolu, in Imo State.
Governor Akeredolu dismissed the PDP, expressing his belief in the mission of his wife, Betty Anyanwu- Akeredolu, “to emancipate women from the shackles of all forms of oppression in the country.”
Governor Akeredolu, in the statement, asserted that his wife is “a fiercely independent personality who is never afraid to voice her dissent on any issue.” He was of the view that his wife will add value to the development of Imo State as their representative in the National Assembly.
