PDP NWC Endorses Setonji Koshoedo as National Secretary, Drops Anyanwu
This development effectively displaces Senator Samuel Anyanwu from the influential position
decision followed a meeting of the NWC held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Acting National Chairman of the PDP,Lql Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun, addressed journalists with a brief statement confirming the committee’s adoption of a recommendation made by the PDP Governors’ Forum.
According to Damagun, the party’s governors had advised that Koshoedo step in as Acting National Secretary, a suggestion the NWC agreed to without contest.

Damagun further noted that the matter will be presented to the National Executive Committee (NEC) for formal ratification.
He also disclosed that the NEC meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, in line with the Governors’ Forum’s guidance.
Although the brief did not go into details regarding the rationale behind the decision to sideline Anyanwu, political observers believe it could be linked to ongoing internal restructuring efforts within the party.
