Police arraign 20-year-old jobless man for stealing N25,000 phone
The Police on Friday arraigned a 20- year-old man, Jamiu Abdulsalam, charged at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on charge of stealing a mobile phone valued at N25,000.
The unemployed man standing tried for stealing, was said to reside at 4, Idiaba St., Ilupeju, Lagos,
The Prosecutor, Inspector Glory Goodday, told the court that the offence was committed on June 26 at Ogunji Street, Ilupeju , Lagos.
Goodday said that the complainant, Osinachi Ugbona, dropped his phone with the defendant to help him download an app.
He said that when the complainant went back to collect his phone, the defendant said it had been stolen.
The Prosecutor said that the phone is valued at N25,000.
The prosecutor argued the offence contravenes Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant pleaded not to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs. O. O Odufuyi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N5,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Magistrate Odufuyi adjourned the case to August 23 for mention.
