Police kill 5 Kidnappers in Ikom, rescue victim
Police in Ikom Local Government Area Central Cross River State on Wednesday rescued a supermarket owner, Mrs Asimco from kidnappers who had abducted her last Saturday and took her deep into the forest and demanded for ransom.
According to a source in Ikom said the Police traced the bandits to a forest in Ikom and the kidnappers engaged them in a gun duel.

In the process, four of the bandits were killed in the forest while one of them was caught alive and taken to the police station in Ikom.
National Daily, however learnt that the wounded bandit later died as a result of bullet wounds at the police station.
