Additionally, it has secured the position of the highest charting Nigerian song on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 3. The only African song to surpass it is South Africa’s Hugh Masekala’s 1968 record ‘Grazing In The Grass.’
The success of ‘Calm Down’ extends beyond the charts. The track has been awarded an RIAA platinum plaque for its outstanding achievements in the United States, where it also reached the summit of the Billboard Pop Radio. Furthermore, it has become the most streamed Afrobeats song on Spotify and the most-watched Nigerian music video on YouTube.
The recognition for ‘Calm Down’ doesn’t stop there. The song has been nominated for the 2023 VMAs in the collaboration of the year category, solidifying its impact on the music industry. Rema is also set to perform at the forthcoming 2023 Headies award, where ‘Calm Down’ is expected to receive further accolades.
