The late Senator Annie Okonwko is currently being laid to rest, this Wednesday, in his country home, Ojolo, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State.

The Funeral service for the Late Senator Okonkwo, who represented Anambra Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly 2007 to 2011, is being held at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church, Ojolo.

Annie Okonwko died on June 8, 2023, at the age of 63 years in the United States, after a prolonged ailment, and few weeks after his birthday anniversary.

He was a dedicated member of the Catholic Church, and had the honour of Knight of Saint John.
The funeral of the demised Annie Okonkwo on Wednesday was attended by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio; Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections, and his wife; Senator Ifeanyi Uba, among others.
