Shaky hands, also known as tremor, are defined by Medicalnewstoday as an involuntary rhythmic muscular contraction that causes the body’s components (particularly the hands) to shake or quiver. Shaky hands are common when we’re concerned or upset, but if they’re interfering with our day-to-day activities, something is amiss. People over the age of 50 are more likely to experience tremors in their hands. In order to avoid acquiring hand tremor as you get older, Medicalnewstoday recommends the following four bad behaviors to stop doing.

1. Stress

Some people have made a routine out of experiencing high levels of stress. Get enough sleep and relax so that you can avoid stress as much as possible. Restlessness can cause the body to produce stress chemicals like adrenaline, which can contribute to an increase in blood pressure and a rapid heart rate.

Shaky hands can be caused by both of these disorders. If you’re an elderly person, you’re actually doing more harm than good to your health by not getting enough sleep.

2. Lack of sleep

Your health will benefit greatly if you get at least eight to nine hours of sleep each night. Hand tremor is more common in those who don’t get enough sleep because sleep deprivation sets off neurological reflexes that induce shakiness. Stress can be exacerbated by a lack of sleep, so it’s in everyone’s best interest to make sure they get enough shuteye.

3. Reduce the amount of caffeine you consume.

As you become older, it’s vital to cut back on caffeinated meals and beverages like energy drinks and coffee since they can function as a stimulant. Caffeine can disrupt your sleep, which can contribute to anxiety and depression. Older persons may experience trembling hands as a result of this.

4. Anxiety

This isn’t actually a habit. Anxiety, however, has been shown to cause the bones to become tender. As a result of this, a person may begin to shake or tremble. Anxiety can be caused by excessive noise and chaos, thus it is best to avoid them. Avoiding habits that can create shaky hands is a good idea because they can interfere with your daily life, so do so.
