Situation Room demands independent inquiry into 2019 elections
The Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room has called for an independent enquiry into the conduct of the 2019 general elections, saying the elections fell below the outlined standards.
The call was made by the Convener of the situation room, Clement Nwankwo, at a media briefing in Abuja.
Nwankwo said voting was plagued by serious shortcomings.
The civil society situation room also identified collation of results as a major weak point in Nigeria’s electoral process.
Members of the situation also called on INEC to expose the institutions that undermined its efforts to deliver credible elections.
