Some people sleep on their stomach while some others are comfortable sleeping on their backs, but there are some side effects of Sleeping on your stomach and we are going to examine some of them.
In this article in line with a publication on Healthline, we are going to have a look at some of the health complications sleeping on your stomach may cause. Just sit tight and enjoy this article while learning something new.
What Are The Health Complications Linked to Sleeping On Your Stomach?
1. Neck issues – if you are the type of person that sleep on your stomach, then you will agree with me when I say that sleeping on your stomach is not possible unless you twist your face either to the right or left. It is impossible to sleep with your face down while sleeping in this position, this may cause your head and spine to be out of alignment, twisting the neck and in the long run, it can cause neck problems. This may even become serious in the long run.
2. Spinal problems – if you sleep on your stomach, it can put a strain on the back and spinal cord and a strain on the back and spine can cause issues anywhere in the body. But one of the notable signs you will notice is back pain and since the spinal cord controls most of the nerves in the body, you may end up having issues and feeling pain all over the body. So make sure you stay away from sleeping on your stomach as it’s not healthy for the spine and the overall health. There are other sleeping positions, you can try them out.
