Teacher found dead in King’s college classroom, police launch investigation
Tragedy struck at King’s College, Lagos Island, as a 48-year-old teacher, Mr. Ezekiel Akano, was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances in one of the school’s classrooms.
According to the Lagos State Police Command, the incident occurred on Saturday evening and was reported at approximately 7:40 p.m. by the Vice Principal of the school, Mr. Oguniyi Ayodele.
Alarm was raised by staff members who stumbled upon Mr. Akano’s lifeless body within the premises of the school, located at No. 3, Catholic Mission Street.

A police team was immediately dispatched to the scene to secure the area and commence preliminary investigations. Detectives took photographs and conducted an initial assessment. Early findings revealed no visible injuries or signs of physical assault on the deceased, fueling speculation about the unexplained nature of his death.
Mr. Akano, who was originally from Oyo State, was transported to Lagos Island Hospital, Odan, where he was officially declared dead on arrival by a medical practitioner.
His body has since been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for preservation and a scheduled autopsy.
The Lagos State Police Command has assured the public that a thorough investigation is ongoing to uncover the cause and circumstances surrounding the sudden death of the educator.
