Liver meat is one of the most popular type of meat in the world. It can be used to cook different kind of delicacies such as soups, sauce, stew and others. This liver meat is basically the liver organ of animals such as cows, ram, pigs, chicken and others. It is very easy to find or access in butcher shops or shopping malls. Liver is also one of the best animal sources of vitamin A nutrient. In this article, I’m going to explain why liver meat is good or bad for you.
Here are the potential health benefits of liver meat and why it is good for you.
Eye health
Liver meat contains vitamin A which is responsible for boosting eye health in the body, improving the immune system and also serves as a catalyst against different types of cancer. The liver is known to store a lot of nutrients but most especially the almighty vitamin A.
Improved bone health
The Liver organ or liver meat found in animals is also very rich in vitamin K and calcium nutrient which helps to strengthen bones and skeletal system in the body. As long as you keep eating liver meat, your bone health is secured as well as stronger bones and teeth.

Nutrients toxicity
Although the human body needs to be getting enough nutrients, but there’s still a need to be cautious of how we pack these nutrients into our body system. Eating large quantity of liver meat at the same time can cause nutrient toxicity or vitamin A toxicity, because your own liver cannot process the excess vitamins quickly enough and this can damage the human liver.
High cholesterol level
Liver meat is a very rich source of cholesterol. People who are trying to lower their cholesterol level should stay clear from eating liver meat. Having a high level of cholesterol in the body has been linked to heart diseases or cardiovascular diseases.
Liver meat is very cheap and affordable, that’s why so many people prefer it to other types of meat. And as much as it is healthy in terms of eyes and born health, liver meat also have some health risk. The point to note here is for people to eat liver meat with caution because too much of everything is bad.
