Tinubu approves 50k grants to 3.6m families, others
President Bola Tinubu has approved an uplift grant for 3.6 million families in Nigeria, which will be disbursed under the National Construction and Household Support Programme.
The grant which was approved by the president during the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Thursday, June 27, will see about 100,000 families in each state receive N50,000 for three months.

According to a statement issued by presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, the programme is aimed at boosting agricultural productivity, strengthening the economy, and providing immediate economic relief for Nigerian households.
“In addition, other items under the National Construction and Household Support Programme include: One-off allocation to states and the Federal Capital Territory of N10 billion for the procurement of buses and CNG uplift programme. Delivery of N50,000 uplift grants each to 100,000 families per state for three (3) months. Provision for labour unions and civil society organizations.
