Tinubu can only be countered by northerner in 2027 – Dele Momodu

A stakeholder in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu, on Wednesday, said that President Bola Tinubu can only be countered by a northerner in the 2027 presidential election.

Dele Momodu, in a media interaction on ARISE NEWS on Wednesday, monitored by NATIONAL DAILY Newspaper from Lagos, expressed loss of confidence in any southern politician competing with Tinubu in the presidential race in 2027.

According to Dele Momodu, “I have a theory, and that theory is simply that Tinubu can only be countered this time by a northerner. Any southerner who tells you they want to contest against Tinubu is going to waste his time.”

A public commentator, Dele Farotimi, had earlier said that President Tinubu does not leave anything to chance, saying that results of the 2027 general elections may be ready even the commencement of the polls.

Meanwhile, the PDP is currently contending with the crisis of defection of elected office holders with their executive appointees to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The party is yet to consider the issue of zoning, or the risk of presenting a northern presidential candidate in 2027.
