TNL unveils 8th generation Toyota Camry in Nigeria
Toyota Nigeria Ltd, the sole franchise holder of the Toyota brand in Nigeria has unveiled the 8th generation Toyota Camry in Nigeria.
Speaking at the unveiling in Lagos, MD of TNL, Kunle Ade-Ojo, who was represented by the company’s General Manager, Corporate Services, Mr. Bunmi Onafowokan, said the newly unveiled Camry which is in its 8th generation is a model that has enjoyed a high level of goodwill and acceptance, not only for the superior quality engineering behind it but also for its stunning beauty.
From its upgraded, trendier exterior to its spacious interior design, Ade – Ojo said the latest model of the Camry available in 2.5L and 3.5L engines will readily arouse in its lovers a driving pleasure unparalleled in its class.
He said since the first Toyota Camry model was first introduced in 1982, the auto maker, as at 2015 sold over 18 million units of the model across regions.
Emphasizing that it is a remarkable package of safety, comfort and performance in equal proportion, he said “as you are all aware, the economic landscape of our dear nation Nigeria has not been exactly clement, but that has not deterred us. In fact, it has positively impacted on our creativity in responding to the demands of our dear customers all over Nigeria and we will continue to explore ways of keeping them satisfied and also uphold our culture of excellence”.
In his presentation of the new model to journalists, dealers and other members of the public, Marketing Manager, Mr. Bayo Olawoyin said the Camry model has undergone a total transformation and transition, from a proven sedan to one that pushes the limits.
According to Olawoyin, the new Camry is a model that has enjoyed high level of goodwill, adding that the models being introduced in the Nigerian market are 2.5L and 3.5L Petrol engines.
On key selling points, Olawoyin pointed out that the new Camry has high efficiency, high power next generation “Dynamic Force Engine” with powerful acceleration and new direct shift 8AT contributing to low fuel consumption.
He also said it has sequential shifter that allows shift operation like in Manual Transmission, Improved noise reduction.
Safety body with a leading global rating and advanced safety, high strength cabin and collision support body to effectively absorb and disperse shock, all speed dynamic radar cruise control”, he added.
Other attributes of the new Camry according to Olawoyin include: World Top Class Safety Performance; Segment Leading Advanced Human Machine Interface (HMI); LED Headlamp With LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL); Colored Multi Information Display.
