Trailer skids off Lagos bridge, many feared dead
A trailer fell off the Ojuelegba Bridge in Lagos on Saturday, landing on a car and pedestrians below.
The accident happened during the evening rush hour, for motorists and pedestrians.
No casualty figure ascertained immediately after the accident, but many were feared killed.
Videos of the incident going viral online pictured people waiting, and a crane working to lift the trailer.
Articulated trailers are prone to such accident in Lagos, where their containers, mostly unhooked to the trailer bed, tilt, and make the carriers keel over.
