Troops neutralise terrorists, rescue 69 as operation Hadin Kai intensifies offensive
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have recorded major operational successes across the North-East, including the foiling of terrorist attacks, neutralisation of Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters, arrest of suspected collaborators, and rescue of abducted civilians.
According to the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), troops successfully disrupted coordinated terrorist activities along the Buratai–Chara axis in Borno State after surveillance detected a large movement of insurgents.
The terrorists were engaged and forced to retreat, while pursuing troops recovered 169 rounds of ammunition.
In Yobe State, troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade, working alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force and local hunters, killed four terrorists during an ambush operation in Gujba Local Government Area and recovered two AK-47 rifles.
Another attempted attack along the Kirawa axis was also repelled, with heavy casualties reportedly inflicted on the insurgents.
Security forces further arrested suspected armed robbers in Biu, a terrorist collaborator in Monguno, and a suspected drug peddler in Adamawa State during separate operations.
The military also recorded gains in rescue missions, freeing additional abducted civilians along the Ngoshe–Amuda axis and raising the total number of rescued victims from the Ngoshe incident to 69.
Another kidnapped civilian was rescued in Gwoza after reportedly escaping from terrorist captivity due to sustained military pressure.
Operation HADIN KAI said troops also recovered arms, ammunition, improvised explosive devices and other logistics abandoned by fleeing terrorists during clearance operations.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist groups and restoring lasting peace and security across the North-East region
