A senior US defense official on Tuesday celebrated that the Ukrainian forces frustrated the advancement of Russian forces to the capital, Kyiv, in Tuesday’s military operation. The US official was cited to have stated: “We generally sense that the Russian military movement… the overarching movement on Kyiv, is stalled at this point.
“We do think that some of it has to do with their own sustainment and logistics.
“And we also think that just in general… the Russians themselves are regrouping and rethinking and trying to adjust to the challenges that they’ve had.”
The US official emphasized that a massive Russian force moving north of Kyiv was slowed down in the advancement to Kyiv six days into the war. However, the US ac knowledge that Russian forces still intend to surround and capture Kyiv, Ukraine capital, by siege tactics if necessary.
The US official maintained that the Ukraine military have sustained resistance to the invasion force, noting: “the Russians have not gained control of the skies above the country.
