Useni challenges security personnel on neutrality during supplementary election

The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Plateau State, Jeremiah Useni, has cautioned against the deployment of security personnel that will harass and intimidate people at their polling units and collation centres during the supplementary elections in the state.
Useni said security agencies should remain neutral and stick to their constitutional roles
The battle to occupy the Plateau State Government House is still on and for the very first time in the history of the state, a supplementary election will be conducted.
While calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to ensure a credible exercise, Useni cautioned against intimidation by security operatives during the election.
Useni, who promised to serve only one term if elected, said the people must be allowed to choose who governs them. The PDP candidate is leading in the results declared so far, while the All Progressives Congress, APC, and incumbent governor of the state is trailing behind.
