Victim’s identification leads to arrest of suspected kidnapper in Nasarawa

A suspected kidnapper identified as Adamu Lamu, described as a Fulani bandit, has reportedly been arrested by Nigerian security forces at Agyaragu in Nasarawa State following his identification by one of his alleged victims.

The suspect was said to have been apprehended after a 31-year-old man, identified as Mr Nehemiah Elisha, reportedly spotted him at a market in Agyaragu.

According to the account, Elisha had previously been abducted by suspected kidnappers but managed to escape from his captors.

After regaining his freedom, Elisha reportedly encountered one of the men he identified as being among his abductors while at the market.

He immediately alerted troops deployed in the area and provided information that enabled the security personnel to move swiftly against the suspect.

The troops subsequently apprehended the man, who was identified as Adamu Lamu.

The development highlights the potential importance of information from victims and members of the public in efforts by security agencies to track and apprehend suspected kidnappers and armed groups operating in communities.
