Victor-Laniyan, Uwadoka, Oloruntoba to headline BJAN Consumer Rights Day
Renowned sustainability expert Omobolanle Victor-Laniyan is set to deliver the keynote address at the 2025 World Consumer Rights Day celebration, an annual global event observed on March 15 to highlight consumer concerns and advocate for their rights.
In Nigeria, the event is organized by the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN) as part of its ongoing commitment to fostering discussions on consumer-related issues, particularly the challenges faced by Nigerian consumers.
This year’s celebration, themed “A Just Transition to Sustainable Lifestyles,” aims to promote sustainable living practices and enhance awareness of consumer rights. The event will take place on March 14, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, starting at 10 a.m.
Omobolanle Victor-Laniyan, who also serves as the CEO of Kratos Sustainability Consults, has been chosen to headline the event due to her extensive expertise in sustainable development.

The celebration will also feature guest discussants, including Victoria Uwadoka, Head of Corporate Communications and Sustainability Lead at Nestlé Nigeria; Bankole Oloruntoba, CEO of Climate Change Nigeria (CIC); and other distinguished sustainability experts.
Speaking on the significance of the event, BJAN Chairman Daniel Obi expressed enthusiasm about the participation of these industry leaders. He stated, “We are excited to have these experts share their insights with us. Their contributions will be invaluable in promoting sustainable lifestyles and reinforcing consumer rights.”
BJAN extends an open invitation to the public, encouraging all interested individuals to attend and engage in meaningful conversations about sustainable development and consumer advocacy.
